Thanksgiving this year was a bit of a mixed bag. It started out as a nightmare on Wednesday when Murray went missing. Apparently he was big enough and agile enough to jump our back fence, so he decided to embark upon an adventure worthy to be retold by future generations to come. Of course dad and mom were panicked and beside themselves as they searched high and low all over town. Howard and Michael volunteered multiple hours of flyer posting and searching and eventually their efforts paid off. Murray was found exactly 2 days after he disappeared on Friday morning, clear on the other side of town. He was a survivor and smart enough to seek a safe haven tucked away in a nice family's back porch. Oh the stories we heard from people that had spotted him - we knew our crazy boy was out there somewhere and what a relief to finally find him! Since then we have gotten him new tags, built 3 feet onto the fence and worked seriously on his sense of direction so that next time he decides to walk on the wild side, at least he'll be able to find his way home. Needless to say, Murray did not leave our sides for the rest of the weekend and we happily took him on a long hike to the Pelican Inn with the rest of the Cann clan. Other than this crisis, Thanksgiving was a great time catching up with family and eating Pumpkin pie to our heart's content!
